This was a stunning surprise.  Thanks to everyone who made this happen.  I really wasn't expecting this.  As I've articulated in prior posts, just getting nominated was honor enough.  But to have won in two of the categories?  Totally unexpected.  Thanks, guys.

Is it really that time of year again?  I must confess, that I haven't paid a lot of attention to this in years past.  However, this time I did notice htbthomas's post called ELIGIBLE FIC FOR THE SMFAS, which in addition to listing her eligible work, also prodded the other other's to list their work.  I just have one:

I feel a bit funny drawing attention to my work, when there is such talented competition out there.  A few in particular have talent that transcends this community and are comprable to published professional authors.  I have no doubt that they'll get the recognition they deserve from this years awards, as they have in the past.

I just posted chapter 36 of my current fic, Family Reunion, and the word count at FanFiction.Net puts the word count at 158,448.  (I haven't been counting the Author's Notes in the word counts here).  That exceeds the word count for the completed epic Home is Where the Heart Is, which weighed in at 30 60 chapters and 157,386 words.  It's surprised me.  At this rate, I'll probably easily exceed 200,000 and maybe even 250,000.

I knew that the chapters were running a lot longer this time around - a third or half again as long as from Home, but I didn't thing I was this long winded.  I think that Family Reunion is a better story than Home, but I'm still really not sure what to make of this...

Updated:  Don't know where that number 30 came from, but the Home epic was 60 chapters, not 30.
